A School Girl's Guide to Imagination

Updated: Sep 28, 2020

Everyone has imagination, imagination is very important. Imagination is a higher creative process that allows the individual to manipulate intrinsically generated information in order to create a representation perceived by the senses. You might ask why is imagination so important? Well, the ability to imagine things pervades our entire existence. It influences everything we do, thinks about, and create. It leads to elaborate theories, dreams, and inventions in any profession from the realms of academia to engineering and the arts. Did you know whenever you see faces in potato chips or when you see a cloud that looks like shape that's something called "Pareidolia"? Pareidolia is the tendency for the incorrect perception of a stimulus as an object, pattern, or meaning known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music. Imagination is the ability to produce and simulate novel objects, peoples, and ideas in the mind without any immediate input of the senses. The cognate term of mental imagery may be used in psychology for denoting the process of reviving in the mind recollections of objects formerly given in sense perception. That's all I really have to say, I might make a part two
